- The next monthly farmer breakfast will be Tuesday June 18 at 8:00 a.m. at South Side Diner in Mt. Vernon. Timely farm topics will be discussed, there will be a question and answer session, and general discus- sion.
This month’s topic is “Breeding Heat Stressed Cattle”.
Breakfast will be at your expense and ordered off the menu. Monthly meetings will be held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 8 a.m. Representatives from Knox FSA, NRCS, Soil and Water, and OSU Extension will be present and give a brief update. - In an effort to encourage local residents to eat better and to make them aware of locally produced fruits and vegetables, the Knox County Health Department will once again host a monthly Farmer’s Market. The market coincides with the health department’s monthly late clinic. The dates are June 18, July 16 and Aug. 20. The market will take place in the parking lot on the south side of the health department from 4 – 6:30 p.m., rain or shine
