MOUNT VERNON - While retailers K-Mart and MC Sports are closing their local stores, word has come that the Mount Vernon JCPenney store is not one of four Ohio locations to be shut down.
The company announced in February it would be closing between 130-140 stores in the coming months.
On Friday, the company released the list of stores to be shuttered across the country. The four Ohio stores to be closed are in Findlay, New Philadelphia, Richond Heights, and St. Mary's.
The company said it expected annual savings of about $200 million from the cost-cutting measures.
