MOUNT VERNON - Martinsburg Road resident Dave Culbertson shares a photo of the daffodil cross which adorns the front yard of his familly's home. It's a poignant illustration of Easter, the holiest of days in the Christian calendar about Jesus' resurrection.
Culbertson said the display has become a bit of a local event every year. He suggests visitors park at Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene and walk up to get pictures. It's just south of the intersection of Martinsburg Rd (586) and Glen Road.:

The colorful cross in its 12th year and features 1500 multiple varieties of daffodils and narcissus. It is 100 feet tall. The main part is 6 feet wide.
Culbertson said, "I laid it out, drilled all the holes and then bought Young Life high school group a few pizzas and they did the rest. I told them their grandchildren will be able to see this cross...they last forever."
