On 2-6-17, Complainant called and said she thought she might be a victim of the Can You Hear Me? Scam. She advised she received a call from phone number 440-596-3593 and when she answered the person on the other end asked if she could hear him. She answered yes and the call was disconnected. When she tried to call the number back it was no longer in service. Shw was advised to contact her credit card company and to have them put her account on a fraud alert. She was also advised to call one of the credit score companies and have them puit her name in for a fraud alert. Complainant was given the deputy's name and the report number to give those companies when she calls them.
On 2-6-17, Jesse J. Ervin was observed entering a residence on Fairgrounds Rd. by the MVPD. Ervin had an outstanding warrant from the Mount Vernon Municipal Court. Contact was made with Ervin and he surrendered and was taken into custody.
On 2-6-17, an officer responded to Kroger on a report of a shoplifting. Upon arrival Loss Prevention told the officer that a male and female stole merchandise. The items stolen include two rolls of ground beef, a California combo sushi roll, a protein shake, Tiger balm, and a DVD video. Charges were filed.
On 2-6-17, a female at Park Hill Apartments reported an animal bite. She indicated her animal had bitten a juvenile who was visiting her child at her residence. The animal lunged at the child causing injury to him. The child was treated by the Mount Vernon Fire Dept. and transported to Knox Community Hospital. Animal Control was contacted and the animal was removed per the complainant's request. An animal bite form was attached to the report. The report was forwarded to Knox County Animal Control. No charges were filed.
On 2-6-17, security at a business on Coshocton Ave., reported a shoplifting. Security stated they had stopped a male who was witnessed exiting the store without paying for merchandise. The male admitted to stealing the merchandise which was seized by security and returned to the store. MVPD officer issued the male a summons for petty theft and released.
On 2-6-17, an officer responded to Kroger in reference to a shoplifting. The complainant had two females detained. They were observed concealing items and attempting to walkout of the store without paying. Both females were issued a summons for petty theft.
On 2-5-17, Robert Williams, 40, E. Burgess St. was arrested and charged with domestic violence and assault.
On 2-6-17, Jesse Ervin, 25, Fairgrounds Rd. was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.
On 2-6-17, Robert Wirick, 27,Fairgrounds Rd. was cited for DUS License forfeiture suspension.
On 2-6-17, Matthew Carter 30, Fredericktown, was arrested and charged with theft.
On 2-3-17, Doug E. Krumlauf was attempting to park when he struck the building.
On 2-4-17, Cloyd A. Yough and Halie M. Lowery made contact in the CVS parking lot. It is unknown who is at fault as both stories are different.
On 2-5-17, while traveling southbound in the Aldi parking lot, Joshua Clark struck the concrete base of a light pole.
