Prosecutor's office seeking responses to addiction survey

MOUNT VERNON - The recent town hall series brought renewed awareness of the drug epidemic, particularly methamphetamine and heroin. The Knox County Prosecutor's office wants to know how the drug problems in Knox County are affecting you.

They are asking you to answer their poll on Facebook at this link:

For those not on Facebook, KP has posted the questions here. You can send your responses to us here at KP by email, [email protected] and we'll relay them to the prosecutor's office. The results will be shared next Friday, June 16.

Addiction Poll

How has drug addiction affected you?

Choose all that apply, or leave a comment if we've missed something.

__I have a friend or family member has struggled with addiction.

__I have been a victim of a crime related to drug addiction.

__I believe drugs are being sold in my neighborhood.

__I have witnessed drug related activities in a local school setting.

__I have not been affected.

Prosecutor Chip McConville said, "We hope to collect new data to pair with our existing data regarding drug related crimes in the county, which will be showcased at the Knox Addiction Conference [June 28 & 29 at Kenyon College]. I also think it's important to keep the conversations going after the recent town hall meetings regarding the drug problem and how it's affecting our community."
