MVPD

Incidents

8/11/17 - At approximately 12:03 a.m. an officer responded to 855 Coshocton Ave. in reference to a criminal trespass. When the officer made contact with the complainant he said he recognized an individual in the store who was not allowed to be there. The individual was issued a summons for criminal trespass and released from the scene.

8/10/17 - At approximately 8:57 a.m. an officer responded to a Mansfield Ave. address on a breaking and entering complaint. The suspect is unknown at this time. Extra patrol was requested for the residence by the complainant. The investigation has been closed and will be re-opened if any suspects and/or leads are developed.

8/11/17 - At approximately 3:06 p.m. an officer was dispatched to an Upper Gilchrist Rd. on a report of fraud. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the complainant who stated a resident's father had opened credit card accounts in his name. A witness statement was completed and a report was taken.

8/10/17 - At approximately 3:00 a.m. an officer made contact with a complainant who stated her vehicle was missing from her residence on E. Ohio Ave. She indicated her vehicle had been missing for approximately three days. The vehicle was entered into LEADS as stolen, along with a possible suspect.

8/13/17 - At approximately 5:12 a.m. an officer responded to an E. Ohio Ave. address in reference to criminal trespass. John Lowe had been warned earlier in the evening about being on the property and had left. `Lowe later returned and trespassed on the property. When the officer arrived, Lowe was arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail

8/12/17 - At approximately 8:10 a.m. an officer responded to an E. Burgess address in reference to a theft from a vehicle. The investigation continues.

8/13/17 - At approximately 11:50 a.m. an officer responded to an E. Pleasant St. address in reference to a theft from a vehicle. The investigation continues.

8/13/17 - an officer responded to the Kroger store on Coshocton Ave. in reference to a theft, the loss prevention employee stated that at 6:55 p.m. he observed a male shopper unwrap a DVD and place it in his cart along with other items including Cranberry Juice, Grape Power Ade, a 12 pack of Coca Cola cans, and a 1-gallon container of Hawaiian Punch. The shopper then exited the store and walked to the vehicle with the cart and started to place the items into his car when the Kroger employee confronted him. He was escorted back to the store with the items. When the officer arrived he advised him of his Miranda rights and charged him with theft.

8/11/17 - Catherine Simones, 35, Newark, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

8/11/17 - Aleigha Dolan, 18, Wooster, was cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.

8/11/17 - Logan Rothgeb, 23, Martinsburg Rd. was arrested on an active warrant.

8/12/17 - Joshua Stotts, 34, Zanesville, was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.

8/12/17 - Emily Mullins, 24, Teryl Dr. was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.

8/13/17 - Danyal Donalson - 26, S. Gay St. was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.

8/13/17 - Lucas Stagg, 35, E. Ohio Ave. was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

8/13/17 - James McCoy, 42, Upper Gilchrist Rd. was arrested for drug abuse.

8/13/17 - Patrick Gaskill, 39, E. Sugar St. was charged with theft.

Traffic accidents

8/11/17 - While traveling westbound in Coshocton Ave. Aleigha N.K. Dolan failed to stop for Austin David Priest who was stopped facing westbound on Coshocton Ave. Dolan was cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.


 KCSO

8/12/17 - An officer made a traffic stop on W. Sugar Street for a car with a broken, passenger-side head light. The officer determined that the suspect, Daniel Newbauer had an active warrant out of Licking County for probation violation. Newbauer was handcuffed and placed in the back of the officer's patrol car and was taken to the Knox-Licking County line where he was released to Licking County officials.

Accidents

On 8-9-17, Michael D. Novak, driving a semi truck with loaded trailer owned by Ron Rogers Trucking, was traveling southbound on S. Mulberry St. and tried to negotiate a curve southeast from S. Mulberry St. on Phillips Dr. and failed to control his vehicle. The truck and trailer overturned on its right side on Phillips Dr.

On 8-9-17, Jesse R. Fabrizio was traveling northbound and turning left. Christopher E. Riel was eastbound and turning right. Fabrizio was left of center and was struck by Riel.

On 8-9-17, Robin D. Etue was traveling northbound on S. Sandusky St and failed to stop for Kimberly A. Dohn who was stopped for traffic northbound on S. Sandusky St. Etue struck Dohn in the rear. Etue was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

Incidents

On 8-8-17, an officer was dispatched to an E. Sugar St. in reference to a stolen vehicle. There was no witness or evidence to report. The vehicle contained a birth certificate, Social Security card, catcher's gear, 3 dozen baseballs and jumper cables The vehicle was later recovered.

On 8-4-17, Dylan Wood, 18, Oak St. was arrested and charged with one count of theft.

On 8-8-17, Chealsie Harris, 25, Lonzo Ln. was arrested for possessing drug abuse instruments and possession of drugs.

On 8-8-17, Norman Pelton, 48, N. Main St. was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.

On 8-8-17, Ryan Wahl, 19, Newark, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.

On 8-8-17, Laura Fawcett, 39, N. Sandusky St. was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

On 8-9-17, Michael Novak, 50, Lexington, was cited for failure to control/weaving.

On 8-9-17, Daniel Crunelle, 42, Chester St. was cited for expired or unlawful plates and for fictitious plates.

On 8-9-17, Treg Davis, 20, Harnwell St. was cited for marijuana drug paraphernalia.

On 8-10-17, Amanda Shafer was arrested at her residence in Howard on an outstanding warrant through the Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile Division. Shafer was handcuffed and transported to the Knox County Jail.

On 8-10-17, Nicole Mitchell was observed on Columbus Rd. She was arrested on a warrant out of Richland County.

On 8-10-17, Scott Vance was located and arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Ashland County. Vance was transported to the Ashland County line where he was released to Loudonville Police.

On 8-8-17, a complainant went to the KCSO to make a report about her hay being stolen. The officer later contacted her by telephone to ascertain more details. No other information is available.

On 8-8-17, a complainant called the KCSO and advised there was a red Chevrolet S-10 parked on his property. The complainant said he was unable to locate anyone around the vehicle but he believed someone was illegally ginseng hunting on his property. Deputies went to the scene, located Bobby J. Malone and arrested him for criminal trespass and illegally harvesting ginseng.

On 8-8-17, while investigating two males who were hitchhiking it was discovered that both males had active warrants out of Delaware County. Christopher Black and Jose Escamilla were detained, transported to the Delaware County line and released to a Delaware County Sheriff's Deputy and a Powell City Police officer.

On 8-9-17, an officer was dispatched to a Harrison Ave. address on a report of a credit card theft. The complainant told the officer that someone had stolen her credit cards and had used one of the multiple times. The victim was told a report would be made for documentation.

On 8-9-17, the complainant called the KCSO to report that unknown person(s) had entered his two unlocked vehicles and rummaged around them. The complainant advised that the only thing that appeared to be missing was a small amount of change in the center console.

On 8-9-17, the complainant called the KCSO to report that she believed someone had broken into her home on Stump St. She said she believed they had stolen her compact discs about three days earlier.

On 8-7-17, an officer spoke with the complainant/victim who advised him that unknown person(s) used his personal information to open an account with AT&T. This happened sometime between 6-25-17 and 8-7-17. A report was written to document the incident.

On 8-7-17, a deputy spoke with the complainant/victim by telephone. She advised the deputy that unknown person(s) had removed a ring from her golf bag while she was at Chapel Hill Golf Course. She advised the theft took place sometime between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM on July 29, 2017. The deputy advised the complainant that a report would be written to document the incident.

 

On 8-4-17, an officer was dispatched to Martinsburg in response to an attempted burglary report. The complainant told the officer that someone had tried to break into her home on E. Pleasant St. The officer told the complainant that a report would be made for documentation. There is no suspect in the incident.

On 8-5-17, Jeffrey A. Middleton was observed riding a white bike along the side of the road on W. High St. The officer had dispatch run Middleton through the Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS) and dispatch advised Middleton had an active warrant for probation violation. The officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested and searched Middleton. He was taken to the Knox County Jail and released to the jail staff.

On 8-6-17, the complainant reported discovering a bullet hole in a bedroom wall and a bullet in the closet at a residence on Vance Rd. in Mount Vernon. A hole was discovered on the west side of the house where it appeared an unknown person had shot a gun into the house.
