MOUNT VERNON - Knox County is invited to attend an Open House event at the Knox County Memorial Building on Monday, May 29, after the Memorial Day parade. The parade will conclude at the steps of the Memorial Building around 11:30 a.m.
Guests can attend the program, led by Kevin Henthorn of the Knox County Veterans Service Office, on the steps at 11:30. Afterward, the building will be open for tours, including newly renovated spaces. Free refreshments will be available until 2 p.m.

Entertainment in the theater portion of the building will include rotating showings of "Uncommon Brilliance," the short film chronicling the history of business in Knox County. The film is the culmination of a year-long project by the Knox County Chamber of Commerce celebrating 100 years of business. Knox County's Community Band will also be playing a variety of selections, including patriotic favorites.
"We're so excited to welcome guests to the 'new and improved' Knox County Memorial Building," said director Sara Lynn Kerr. "The spaces in the building are beautiful and we look forward to sharing them with the public."
