MOUNT VERNON - A tip from a 12 year old girl helped Mount Vernon police nab a suspect in a break-in over the weekend. MVPD Chief Roger Monroe says the girl saw the crime as a local carryout was being broken in to. She called police and identified a suspect. Chief Monroe says the girl is one of the players on the softball team he coaches.
Monroe encourages all citizens to call police whether they see something suspicious or if they actually witness a crime.
You can call police at 740-397-2222 or, if it's a life-threatening emergency, call 9-1-1.
