MOUNT VERNON - One of twelve defendants arrested last April as part of a five month investigation of a prescription drug ring today was sentenced by Knox County Common Pleas Court Judge Otho Eyster.
Brent Turner, 55, will spend 30 months behind bars for his role in the Rx drug ring after being convicted on drug trafficking charges.
When the arrests were announced last year, then Prosecutor John Thatcher said, “Shutting down this operation is a significant step toward combating Ohio’s opioid addiction epidemic that is plaguing even smaller, rural areas like Knox County.”
In another case, Judge Eyster sentenced a Mount Vernon man to 7 years in prison. Scott Walls, 44, was convicted of pandering obscenity involving a minor. According to the indictment last fall, Walls took nude photographs of a sixteen year old girl in July. The case was investigated by Detective Dan Bobo of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
