Arrests and Charges:

Kerry Franks, 35, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 4:30 p.m. on Monday for a probation violation.

Courtney Cotton, 26, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday for violating the terms of her house arrest.


At 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Mary Bartels, 52, of Centerburg pulled her 2005 Toyota Tacoma out of a parking space outside a doctor's office on Venture Drive.  As she did so, she struck a parked 2009 Chrysler Town & Country minivan, belonging to Doris M. Neely of Danville.  Bartels left the scene and later told an officer she was unaware that she had struck Neely’s vehicle.


On Tuesday morning, a complainant reported that her juvenile stepson allowed an underaged female into her residence without her permission.  She informed the officer that her husband had discovered the two juveniles in a bed.

At noon on Saturday, a complainant reported that she had lost her purse somewhere on Dike Road or in the area of State Route 229.  She said that she had been going down the road and had to re-shut her door.  She speculates that her purse fell out of the car at that time.

At 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a resident of the 000-block of Dogwood Terrace reported a found bicycle on his property.  It had been there for a few days.  An officer located it, noticed it was covered in snow with no tracks around it, and took it to the MVPD impound lot for storage.
