MOUNT VERNON - Plans have been announced for the 2015 Mount Vernon Memorial Day parade Monday, May 25, starting at 10:30 a.m. The parade will travel west from East High Street at George to the Square, circle the Square then exit the Square by South Main to Vine. The theme this year is "Honor Their Memory, Honor the Flag."
Everyone is invited to participate and can do so by entering a walking, vehicle, float or animal unit. Entries must be received by May 1, 2015. Entries must have a patriotic theme and the committee asks that there be no politically slanted entries. Parade rules also state that no clowns will be allowed to participate and no candy will be thrown from vehicles.
Cash donations will be accepted and greatly appreciated. Checks should be made payable to Patriotic and Memorial Committee.
