MOUNT VERNON — City Law Director Rob Broeren said vandals have created problems in several areas of the city. One incident involves the new sidewalk put in along Mansfield Avenue where the new cemetery wall is being constructed.
“Thanks to the Mount Vernon Police Department and the contractor, the vandals were caught, but the contractor has to pull out two sections of the freshly paved concrete,” he said.
Several incidents of vandalism have occurred in Ariel-Foundation Park. Broeren said the MVPD and officials from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources recently caught a person committing off-road vandalism and that the perpetrator is being prosecuted.
