MOUNT VERNON – Knox County Prosecutor Chip McConville reports Kevin Lester, 49, of Mount Vernon was sentenced for Trafficking in Heroin, a fifth degree felony. Lester was ordered to serve three years of community control, and 75 days in jail. Lester’s Ford Ranger was forfeited because it was used to commit the crime, and a 22 month prison sentence was suspended. The case was investigated by Det. Sgt. Craig Feeney of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Det. J.T. DeChant of the Mount Vernon Police.
Brandon Chaffin, 22, of Mount Vernon was sentenced for Escape, three counts of Breaking and Entering, and one count of Receiving Stolen Property, all fifth degree felonies. Chaffin was ordered to serve 3 years of community control, 180 days in jail, and pay restitution in the amount of $1750 to the victims. Chaffin’s cases were investigated by Ptl. Tim Durbin and Det. Tim Arnold of MVPD.
