MOUNT VERNON - “The Park After Dark” is coming to Mount Vernon Ohio, Oct. 23, 24, 30 and 31 at Ariel-Foundation Park, located at 10 Pittsburgh Avenue. Featuring two unique fall attractions, this event has been created by MTVarts, a local non-profit performing arts organization.
“The Fairytale Forest” will run from 6-8 p.m. and has been designed for young children and families who aren’t quite ready for a haunted attraction yet. Attendees can meet Peter Pan, dance a jig with pirates, take pictures with princesses, see superheroes and many more! There are numerous activities where children can win prizes. Candy is offered by unique groups of characters full of fun and excitement.
“Dr. Vladimir’s Trail of Terror” will run from 9 p.m.-12 a.m. Trek around the lake and be prepared to experience the tormented patients of Dr. Vladimir. Incredibly artistic and hauntingly detailed surprises await around every corner sure to induce nightmares and raise blood curdling screams.
Both attractions take place at “The Lakes” section of the newly completed Ariel-Foundation Park. Additional activities include food vendors, live entertainment, face painting with KiCKS, chalk art and more.
“We cannot wait to share these attractions with central Ohio,” said project manager Carrie Swingle. “Our volunteers have worked tirelessly on props, scenery, costumes, makeup, and scare tactics. Our goal is to bring our theatre expertise to bear on this experience in creative and imaginative ways. Folks familiar with MTVarts’ quality won’t be disappointed!”
