MOUNT VERNON - The Mount Vernon High School practice field will be the site for a candlelight vigil in memory of senior Chelsea Alaimo. She passed away last Sunday evening after being struck by a vehicle as she was crossing the street at Mansfield and Belmont Avenues. 

The vigil will be held Friday night at 8 p.m.

Chelsie was a member of the MVHS band, participated in drama club productions, and had plans to attend Ohio University.

Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday at Mount Vernon's First Church of the Nazarene, 807 Coshocton Ave. A Celebration of Life service will be held immediately following the calling hours at the church.
