NEWARK - Funeral arrangements have been finalized for Officer Tom Cottrell, the Danville police officer killed Sunday night in the line of duty. Thousands of family, friends and fellow law enforcement officers are expected to attend. 

Cottrell was a 2000 graduate of Newark High School and received his degree in Criminal Justice from COTC in 2002. 

 

Calling hours for Cottrell will be held at the Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, 985 North 21st Street, Newark Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on the campus of OSU/COTC – Adena Hall, Newark 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 23, 2016. Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in the name of Tom Cottrell Jr. for a COTC Scholarship Fund for those involved in law enforcement is being established in care of First Knox National Bank. Donations will be accepted at all First-Knox Park National Bank locations.
