MOUNT VERNON - An MVPD officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of East Pleasant Street on a drug complaint Monday afternoon. When the officer arrived he made contact with the complainant. She indicated that her daughter was playing in the backyard when she found a steel bolt that contained drugs. According to the report, the officer examined the steel bolt and discovered that it had a false head on it that was able to removed which revealed a hidden shaft that contained several clear plastic baggies. The officer removed the contents from the shaft. There were two small plastic baggies that contained a white crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamine.

There was an additional small plastic baggy that contained a brown like substance believed to be heroin. The shaft also contained several small plastic baggies and a red straw. The steel bolt and contents were photographed and secured into an evidence locker at the police department to be destroyed.
The suspect is unknown at this time. This investigation has been closed and no charges are expected to be filed.
Law enforcement cautions against picking up any thing that might be suspicious and to report it to police.
