Bruce Hoeflich, 48, of Butler was cited at 10:30 a.m. on Friday for changing lanes without insuring it was safe to do so.
George Payne, 44, of Mount Vernon was charged at 10:05 a.m. on Saturday with fleeing/eluding with a motor vehicle and for driving under a suspended license.
Accidents: At 2:55 p.m. on Friday, Felicia M. Rhodes, 25, of Gambier was heading southbound in Row 7 of the Wal-Mart parking lot in her 2012 Jeep Patriot. Charles W. Caldwell, 54, of Bellville was immediately behind her in his 2004 Ford F-150. Rhodes backed up to avoid being struck by another vehicle. When she did so, he backed into Caldwell’s vehicle.
At around 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, Michael S. Atkinson, 47, of Grand Junction was heading southbound on Sychar Road in his 2006 Chrysler 300. Brandon Bryan Lawrence Brown, 20, of Centerburg was immediately behind him in his 2002 Chevy SC1. Atkinson stopped for traffic at the Coshocton Avenue intersection and Brown rear-ended him.
At 4:50 p.m. on Saturday, Douglas Whitaker, 71, of Mount Vernon backed his 2006 Honda CRV out of a spot in the Kroger parking lot and struck a 1998 Plymouth Voyager driven by Monica K. Pelton, 31, of Croton.
Incidents: At 10:00 a.m. on Friday, an individual reported that he had lost his green card and his Social Security card. He provided details to the MVPD.
At 12:40 p.m. on Friday, an Pleasant Street School employee requested to speak with an officer regarding texts received through the Ohio Alert Program.
At 5:00 p.m. on Friday, a victim reported a burglary at a residence on the 200-block of Cottage Street. Among the missing items were a Fender electric guitar, a Dell laptop, a Smith-and-Wesson 44 Magnum revolver, and fifteen collectible WWII knives.
At 7:50 p.m. on Friday, a victim reported that she had been assaulted by a neighbor on the 400-block of E. Ohio Avenue. A suspect was identified.
At 12:40 a.m. on Sunday, a Speedway employee reported the theft of several bottles of liquor. A suspect was identified.
