Arrests and Charges: Addie Wells, 57, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday for domestic violence.

Hubert Wells, 59, of Mount Vernon was also arrested at 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday for domestic violence.

Traffic Citations

Catherine Lang, 42, of Mount Vernon was cited at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday for failing to yield the right-of-way at an intersection.

Accidents: At 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Catherine Lang, 42, of Mount Vernon was stopped eastbound on Black Walnut Alley in her 2004 Jeep Liberty.  Carole A. Coe, 77, of Mount Vernon was heading northbound on Sychar Road in his 2007 Pontiac G8.  Lang attempted to turn left on Sychar Road, failed to notice Coe’s oncoming vehicle, and struck it in the left front corner.  Lang was cited for the incident.

Incidents: Just past midnight on Monday, officers responded to a reported incident of domestic violence at a residence on the 700-block of N. Sandusky Street.  A suspect was identified.

At 2:40 a.m. on Monday, an officer encountered two juveniles at the intersection of Cooper and Cottage streets.  They were cited for a curfew violation and for tobacco possession.  Two packs of Marlboro Black 100s (containing a total of 14.5 cigarettes) and a white cigarette lighter were collected as evidence.

At 3:20 p.m. on Monday, a resident of the 000-block of Plaza Drive reported an abandoned girl’s bicycle in her front yard.  She first saw it there around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.  When its owner never came to pick it up, she phoned the MVPD.  An officer collected it and placed it into found property at the MVPD impound lot.

At 7:10 p.m. on Monday, a victim reported the theft of a black-handled hair straightener with pink irons and a pack of Menthol Smooth cigarettes from her apartment on the 200-block of Shirley Avenue.

At 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a reported domestic dispute at a residence on the 700-block of Howard Street.  Suspects were identified and arrested and a multi-colored glass pipe containing marijuana residue was collected as evidence.

At 5:55 a.m. on Tuesday, a burglary-in-progress was reported at a residence on the 800-block of Shalimar Drive.  A suspect was identified and a cut window screen documented as evidence.

At 9:10 a.m. on Tuesday, a complainant reported that his mother’s medication (including 60 Hydrocodone tablets) was missing from her residence on the 500-block of E. Gambier Street.  

At 5:05 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a reported disturbance at a residence on the 200-block of N. Mulberry Street.  A suspect was identified and three hypodermic needles, a large metal spoon, and a purple Crown Royal bag were collected as evidence.
