Arrests and Charges:

Edward Ambrose, 73, of Mount Vernon was cited at 4:00 p.m. on Friday for allowing a dog to run at large.

Kenneth Johnson, 39, of Marengo was charged at 4:20 p.m. on Friday with domestic violence.

Liam Kirby, 19, of Alexandria, VA was arrested at 1:42 a.m. on Saturday for persisting disorderly conduct.

Samantha Mele, 22, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday on an outstanding warrant.  She was cited also for driving under a suspended license.

Heather Mele, 24, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday on an outstanding warrant.

 

Traffic Citations:

Bobby Ferenbaugh, 28, of Loudonville was cited at 10:15 p.m. on Friday for operating a vehicle with expired plates.

Amber Workman, 23, of Fredericktown was cited at 12:30 a.m. on Monday for operating a vehicle with fictitious plates.

Accidents:

At 8:10 p.m. on Friday, Michelle Carpenter, 48, of Mount Vernon was heading eastbound on Coshocton Avenue in her 2015 Chevy Suburban.  When she stopped to turn into the Dollar Tree Shopping Center, her vehicle was rear-ended by a 2004 Chevy Silverado driven by Lyle B. Turner, 49, of Mount Vernon.

Incidents:

At 4:50 p.m. on Friday, a victim reported that she had been in a physical altercation with her husband at their residence.  A suspect was identified.

At 8:45 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to a business alarm at Town & Country Veterinary Clinic on Mansfield Avenue.  They found the exterior of the building secure and in order.  No key-holder could be contacted but a message was left in reference to the alarm.

At 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a disturbance at the Knox Community Hospital Emergency Depatment.  A suspect was identified and arrested.

At 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to an alarm at a residence on the 1400-block of Greenbriar Drive.  Everything appeared to be in order and a message was left for a keyholder.

At 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, an officer recovered some found property—including a book bag, some CDs, a checkbook, some artwork, miscellaneous papers and a Social Security card—on the 200-block of N. Gay Street.

At 4:25 p.m. on Friday, an officer responded to a report of a dog-at-large on the 200-block of E. Vine Street.  A suspect was identified and cited.

At 2:10 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to an activated alarm at Bullock’s Drive-Thru on W. High Street.  The exterior of the building appeared to be secure and, when no key holder was available, the officers left the scene.

At around 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on the 1400-block of Greenbriar Drive.  The exterior of the building appeared secure, no keyholder responded to the alarm company’s calls, and the officers left the area.

At 8:50 a.m. on Sunday, a resident of an apartment on Franklin Street reported an attempted theft.  Items not taken from the almost-victim’s vehicle included a pack of Marlboro Black Menthol 100s and a gray-and-black Adidas hat.

At 8:35 p.m. on Sunday, a victim reported that someone had broken into her vehicle while it was parked on S. Division Street.   He took an unknown amount of loose change.  The victim described the suspect as a white male with short hair, clad in dark clothing.  He was seen fleeing the scene running north, behind the apartment buildings, toward Mount Vernon Avenue.

At 11:40 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to an activated business alarm at 1650 Coshocton Avenue.  Upon arrival, an officer was approached by a suspect who stated that he had set off the alarm while delivering a file cabinet to the business.  The door was secure and the alarm continued to sound.  The keyholder (the suspect’s boss) could not be reached so the officers left the scene.

At 2:45 p.m. on Monday, a resident of the 800-block of E. Gambier Street reported that someone was trespassing on his property.  The suspect was identified.

At 6:15 p.m. on Monday, an officer went to an apartment on E. Chestnut Street on a well-being check.
