MOUNT VERNON - A familiar face will return to the Knox County Animal Shelter on Monday to begin working as dog warden. John Carhart, a native of Mount Vernon, previously served as animal control officer. County spokesman Emily Marth told KnoxPagescom that Carhart, most recently, has been working for the county as buildings and grounds superintendent.

The dog warden position became open with the resignation of Jordan Barnard earlier this year.
