MOUNT VERNON — As the nation keeps its focus on the presidential primaries, Knox County voters are faced with the challenge of deciding between five Republican candidates for the 68th District State Representative and the two Republicans vying for the Knox County Common Pleas Court Judge position. There will be an opportunity for voters to become more informed on Wednesday, March 2.
Beginning at 7 p.m., in the Knox County Memorial Theater, State Representative candidates W. Myles Bancroft, Rick Carfagna, Beth Lear, Patrick Quinn and Jason Rogers will square off answering questions from a panel of local media representatives.
Judge candidates Noel Alden and Rick Wetzel will take the stage at 8:15 p.m.
All candidates will be given opportunity to introduce themselves and discuss their motivation for running for elected office, as well as closing statements.
KnoxPages.com and WMVO/WQIO will join the Mount Vernon News in asking the questions for the debate. Candidates will also have the opportunity to introduce themselves and present closing statements.
The evening, sponsored by the News, is presented in coordination with partners the Knox County Commissioners, KnoxPages.com and WMVO/WQIO.
The event will also be broadcast live on WMVO, 1300 AM.
