MOUNT VERNON - Early Tuesday afternoon MVPD issued a news release saying they had recently received a report of a missing person. The subject's full name is Whitedove. She is described at 64, 5'6" tall with shoulder length gray hair with red highlights. She was last seen wearing a black leather jacket with fringe, a long dress and she has red, framed glasses.
MVPD Captain Scott McKnight indicated that just a few hours later, as detectives were conducting a ground search, they discovered human remains in the Center Run river by the intersection of N. Center Street and Lamartine Street Extension. The remains had been in the water and detectives were not able to identify them at the scene. Captain McKnight said other than Whitedove, no one else that they know of is missing, in the city.

MVPD detectives Beth Marti, J.T. DeChant were on the scene as well as personnel from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Knox County Coroner Dr. Jennifer Ogle was also called to the scene. The area was blocked off with orange cones and yellow crime tape. McKnight says photographs were taken and the area is being treated like a crime scene. The remains were taken to Licking County for an autopsy.
