MOUNT VERNON - The volunteers at Knox Community Hospital were WELCOMED to the Urgent Care Center Education Room on April 13th, to a theme of “Volunteers You Rock!"

Knox Community Hospital celebrates and recognizes all the many hours that our volunteers put back into our community. The program started with Frank Sinatra (Jim Stoner) and Elvis’ Lost Brother (Eric Bressi) entertaining the volunteers with songs from yester years. With much laughter and good times behind them, the volunteers were treated to a luncheon, followed by the Pinning Ceremony and Special Awards.

KCH Volunteers contributed 15,143 hours in the year of 2015. Areas included are: Monthly B/P Screenings, Cancer Clinic, Central Registration, Front Desk Ambassadors, Gift Shop, Lab Courier, KMP Greeter, Pain Clinic, Pharmacy, Specialty Clinics, Surgery Waiting, Volunteens and the Wound Center.

Pinning included Hours Pins to: Grace Hubbell and Esther Nielson – 5500 hours; Sue Harwell – 4500 hours; Lucy Waltman – 4000 hours; Sue Riley – 3500 hours; Rodney Collins – 2500 hours; Jan Rowan and JoAnn Walton – 1500 hours; Sharon Conrad, Margaret Griffin, Shirley Layman, Kathy White and Jim Winkler – 1000 hours; Sonja Gallagher, Colleen Litt, Penny Noell and Robin Rapp – 800 hours; Kay Adelsberger, Vicki Carney, Jan Ford, Bonnie Kohl and Phyllis Mullins – 700 hours; Sally Childers and Robert Noell – 600 hours; Mary Ellen Baugher, Britta Bridges, Melissa Poole and Harold Schneider – 500 hours; Lynda Small – 400 hours; Anne Fosnaught, Jeff Hicks, Terrence Klopcic, Ron Moder, and Marshall Winkle – 300 hours; Debbie McLarnan, Marcella Reffitt and Dorothy Sindel – 200 hours; Richard and Sue Simon and Renee Waggoner – 100 hours.
Special Gold Presidential Awards went to Grace Hubbell, Esther Nielson and JoAnn Walton for 500+ hours in one year.
Lifetime Presidential Achievement Awards to Carolyn Hart, Sue Harwell, Grace Hubbell, Esther Nielson and Lucy Waltman for achieving 4000+ hours in a lifetime here at KCH.
