MOUNT VERNON – Foundation Park Conservancy is inviting local bands and non-profit organizations to propose benefit concert partnerships this summer in the Schnormeier Event Center.

"In addition to a diverse schedule of free weekend concerts, featuring an all-new lineup of regionally and nationally touring bands, the Conservancy is accepting proposals for up to four Thursday night concerts, showcasing the talents of well-established local bands or other musical ensembles, and benefiting charitable organizations," according to Conservancy Events Chair Sam Barone.

Barone said the usual rental fee for the event center will be waived, and organizations will be allowed to solicit corporate sponsorships, audience contributions, and conduct other fundraising activities in support of their charitable missions. Admission to the concerts should be free to the public. The Conservancy will coordinate appropriate food and beverage concessions, and will provide free of charge technical support for the benefit concerts.

Benefit concert proposals should be submitted in writing to the Foundation Park Conservancy Events Committee no later than May 31, either by regular mail to P.O. Box 644, Mount Vernon, Oh 43050, or by email to [email protected] Questions may be addressed to Sam Barone by calling 740-504-1964. Proposals will be considered and approved on a first-come basis.
